Leash means the strap for holding the pets like puppies or dogs. Puppy leash training is in fact very faster as well as easy. Many people think this method to be difficult just because they simply use the wrong or misguided process. Screaming heel and pulling it harder on the leash or choking collar is the prime example of such wrong methods. But still it is the method which is most commonly used by the puppy owners. Before undergoing any such leash training, it is suggested to know everything possible about it. Equally important is to ascertain what the puppy exactly likes about walking with the strap around its neck with you. Usually the puppies or the dogs love walking and exploring with straps on their necks with their owners. But they hardly like staying constrained at the same place. With the help of such simple and easier facts the owner can quickly and easily train his puppy or dog walking along with him like any gentleman.
You should start emphasizing the desired behavior before initiating the walk. Unless the puppy is quiet and sits down after it is tied the neck strap by its owner, he should not move out. If the puppy is leaping here and there and eagerly willing to go on the intended walk, the owner should hold back peacefully and should wait till the puppy sits quietly. Any kind of puppy training may initially take some more time to attain the anticipated results. The moment the puppy sits down quietly his owner should gently and lovingly pat it and then start walking out at once. The moment the owner moves out with his puppy strapped and walking besides him, the puppy would somehow start pulling the straps or leash and jump in joy.
At this juncture, it is rather advisable to stand quite at the same place and wait for the puppy to peacefully stand by or sit down and then again pat him gently by uttering some praising words before resuming the walk. This action should be repeated again and again until the puppy starts behaving normal and obeys the command through leash. This technique could be termed as ‘stop & go’ process and may prove to be very effective in due course of time. Like in any good training episode, ensure that you conclude it peacefully and happily.
During the initial few days of the leash training through ‘Stop & go’ process the owner should insist on taking out his puppy for walk for at least four times every day or even more if he can spare more time for his puppy. This would definitely end up in the best and quickest positive results. Repeating such techniques at uniform and regular gaps would prove to be greatly beneficial in obtaining all your anticipated changes in the puppy’s behavior just within a few days. once you attain this condition, you can gradually switch over to your convenient schedule for taking your puppy on walk.
